Make the living room ready for GTA VI launch night

Launch night is not a desk problem for a lot of people. It is a couch, a TV, and a living room that still looks like Tuesday when GTA VI unlocks.
You want the session to feel like an event without turning the room into a streaming backdrop your partner hates.

Soft behind the TV first
Same rule as a monitor cave. Bright OLED, black wall, eyes done before the first mission ends. Soft strip behind the panel aimed at the wall. Dim. Steady. No rainbow party unless everyone on the couch asked for one.
Do this before the projector toys. A nebula on the ceiling of a black room still leaves the TV floating while the map loads.
Ceiling and shelf after the wall wash
Once the wall behind the TV is soft, a ceiling projector or small shelf lamp reads as Miami-night mood instead of clutter. Keep them off the main sightline to the screen. Side and up, not beside the bezel fighting the HUD.

One character object on a shelf under the TV unit is enough for most rooms. Two projectors plus three neons is how living rooms become arguments the week of launch.

Floor clear or it fails the vibe check
Controllers on the rug kill the photo and the feet. Mounts or a small tower beside the media unit. Cables behind the cabinet. Launch night guests notice the floor before they notice your GPU.
Checklist
- Bias behind the TV. Dim until the wall is gray, not neon stage.
- Overhead mostly off for the session.
- One ceiling or shelf mood source max to start.
- Pads off the floor before anyone sits down.
- Sit on the actual couch for a dark scene. Adjust before you invite anyone for unlock night.
Next step
Living room path before GTA VI: backlight, then one mood light, then stop. The night feels bigger because the room is calm.
